Ferentz Live Tuesday

IOWA CITY, Iowa — University of Iowa head football coach Kirk Ferentz will talk about Saturday’s battle with Minnesota for the Floyd of Rosedale on Tuesday at 12:30 p.m. (CT). The game also serves as Iowa’s Homecoming.

The weekly briefing with local, regional and national media will be held in the Hayden Fry Football Complex and be available live from start to finish on Hawkeye All-Access, the multi-media portal inside hawkeyesports.com, the official World Wide Web site of the Iowa Hawkeyes.

Iowa and Minnesota will square off in both team’s Big Ten opener Saturday morning at 11 a.m. (CT). The game will be televised live on ESPN2 with Beth Mowins, Joey Galloway and Lewis Johnson calling the action.

The game is the 106th meeting in the series with the Golden Gophers holding a 61-42-2 advantage. The Hawkeyes have won eight of the last 11 meetings, but Minnesota has won the last two contests, both played at TCF Bank Stadium in Minneapolis. Iowa has won the last five meetings inside Kinnick Stadium.

Minnesota forced four turnovers en route to a 17-10 victory over Syracuse on Sept. 22 to improve its record to 4-0 this season. The Golden Gophers also have defeated UNLV (30-27, 3 OT), New Hampshire (44-7) and Western Michigan (28-23).

The Hawkeyes are 2-2 overall following the 32-31 loss to Central Michigan inside Kinnick Stadium. Iowa is 54-41-5 all-time in 100 Homecoming games.
