IOWA CITY, Iowa — University of Iowa women’s soccer player Jade Grimm has earned Capital One Academic All-District honors. Grimm, a senior defender from Cedar Rapids, Iowa, is now eligible to earn Academic All-America accolades following the conclusion of the season.
As a Physiology major with a minor in Human Relations, Grimm has a cumulative GPA of 3.94. She is a two-time Academic All-Big Ten selection. She has earned the Presidential Committee on Athletics award three times, named to the Dean’s List in six semesters and named to the President’s List once.
Playing left defensive back, Grimm started in each of Iowa’s 21 matches this season and helped lead the Hawkeyes to 12 victories, the second most in program history. She anchored a defense that set the program record for shutouts in a season (10) and tied the record for fewest goals allowed in the regular season (17). Grimm also chipped in on offense, registering two assists.
Grimm played in 79 career games, and made 72 starts. She recorded 16 career points off five goals and eight assists.
