IOWA CITY, Iowa – –University of Iowa head women’s golf coach Megan Menzel has announced that Allison Lindley (Kokomo, Ind./Western High School) and Jessie Sindlinger (Charles City, Iowa/Charles City HS) have signed a National Letter of Intent to attend the University of Iowa next fall.

High School… Ranked as the second best player from Indiana in the class of 2013… qualified and played in the 2012 U.S. Junior Girls Championship… named an Indiana All-State performer as a sophomore, junior and senior… finished fourth at the Indiana State Championship as a senior… collected 11 first place finishes from her freshman through junior high school seasons… recorded 13 top 10 finishes in summer competitions from 2009-11, including three wins… also lettered in basketball, track and tennis… starting point guard in basketball, ran the 400 and 800 in track and was the No. 1 singles player in tennis, recording a 12-3 record as a freshman… honors student in math, English and chemistry.
Personal…Parents are Theresa and Lane Lindley… has one brother, Andrew.
Menzel on Lindley “I was drawn to Allison’s competitiveness and composure on the golf course right away. She is coming off an outstanding summer and picked up valuable experience, playing against the best junior golfers throughout the summer. Allison is a great athlete, not only setting numerous golf records for her high school, but leading her basketball team to a few of the most successful seasons they have seen in a while. Allison is excited to play in the Big Ten and I believe her work ethic and desire to win will make her a great addition to our program.”

Jessie Sindlinger Charles City, Iowa ? Charles City HS High School… Three-time Iowa Class 3A individual state champion… led high school team to a state championship as a sophomore and a runner-up finish as a junior… claimed individual conference and district titles as a freshman and junior, along with a district title and conference runner-up finish as a sophomore… 2010 IWGA Junior Player of the Year… qualified for the PGA Junior Championship in summer of 2012… led Team Iowa to Four State Junior Girls Golf championship in 2012, earning medalist honors… was the only player to shoot under par and only the 10th native Iowan to medal at the event since 1969… also lettered in volleyball and basketball… led her high school volleyball team to a state championship as a senior… two-time first team all-state selection in volleyball, including first team honors as a senior… two-time first team all-conference selection in volleyball… holds a 3.98 grade-point average and is a member of the National Honor Society.
Personal… Parents are Julie and Mark Sindlinger… mother ran track at Northern Iowa… father lettered in football (1983-86) and wrestling (1985-88) at Iowa… father was the starting center for the 1985 Big Ten championship and Rose Bowl football team… he was also a two-time Big Ten champion and All-American in wrestling… has two younger sisters, Jamie and Jodie.

She is a three-sport athlete and has maintained an outstanding grade-point average. Jessie has an outstanding work ethic and love for the game and we are excited about her potential as a collegiate golfer. Jessie has said all along that golf is her passion and she has aspirations to play professionally. She has great length off the tee and a solid wedge game. Jessie is an outstanding addition to our program.”
