IOWA CITY, Iowa — University of Iowa head football coach Kirk Ferentz will meet the media Tuesday at 12:30 p.m. (CT) to talk about “The Heroes Game” matchup against 14th-ranked Nebraska on Friday.
The weekly briefing with local, regional and national media will be held in the Hayden Fry Football Complex and be available live from start to finish on Hawkeye All-Access, the multi-media portal inside hawkeyesports.com, the official worldwide website of the Iowa Hawkeyes.
Friday’s game will begin at 11:07 a.m. (CT) inside Kinnick Stadium. The game will be televised live on ABC with Mike Patrick, Ed Cunningham, and Jeannine Edwards calling the action.
The Huskers hold a 27-12-3 advantage in the series that began with a 22-0 Iowa victory in 1891. Nebraska has won the last four meetings, including last season’s 20-7 victory in Lincoln in the first Big Ten matchup between the two schools.
Nebraska has won five straight and 8-of-9 games to push its record to 9-2 overall and 6-1 in Big Ten play. Last weekend, the Huskers downed Minnesota, 38-14, in Lincoln to finish a perfect 7-0 inside Memorial Stadium. Nebraska’s two losses came against UCLA (36-30) and Ohio State (63-38) — both on the road.
The Hawkeyes look to snap a five-game losing streak that has dropped the team’s overall record to 4-7 overall and 2-5 in league play. Iowa lost at No. 23 Michigan, 42-17, last Saturday in the Big House.
Friday’s game is Iowa’s season finale, and it will serve as Senior Day for 19 seniors and 10 student support staff members.
