THIS WEEK The University of Iowa women’s golf team continues its spring season at the Lady Buckeye Spring Invitational in Columbus, Ohio, April 20-21. The 54-hole tournament will be played at the Scarlet Course at The Ohio State University Golf Club (par 72, 6,268 yards) and will be hosted by Ohio State University. Live scoring will be available on golfstat.com throughout the tournament.

QUOTING HEAD COACH Megan Menzel “We have had a couple really good weeks of practice. We have gotten to play a lot and that certainly helps with our preparation. The Lady Buckeye Spring Invitational has a great field and is such a good test of golf. We are looking forward to the trip and I know the team has put in a lot of work to get themselves mentally ready to play.”

THE LINE-UP Kristi Cardwell, Lauren English, Shelby Phillips, Briana Midkiff, and Gigi DiGrazia will be competing for the Hawkeyes at the Lady Buckeye Spring Invitational. Nicole Rae will be competing as an individual.

THE COMPETITION The Hawkeyes will be competing against 11 schools at the Lady Buckeye Spring Invitational: Augusta State, Indiana, Illinois, Kent State, Michigan State, Northwestern, Ohio State, Purdue, Penn State, Wisconsin, and Youngstown State.

ENGLISH AND CARDWELL FINISH IN TOP-10 Sophomore Lauren English and senior Kristi Cardwell both finished in the top-10 when the Hawkeyes last competed in the Challenge at Onion Creek. English posted a 54-hole score of 216 (+6) to finish tied for eighth. It was English’s fourth top-10 finish of the season. Cardwell fired a 54-hole score of 217 (+7) to finish tied for 10th. It marked Cardwell’s second top-10 finish of the season.
