Dunn Named Academic All-District

IOWA CITY, Iowa — University of Iowa men’s tennis player Garret Dunn has been named to the 2013 Capital One Academic All-District team for the second consecutive season. The announcement was made today by the College Sports Information Directors of America. The award recognizes the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances athletically and in the classroom.

Dunn, a senior from Tempe, Ariz., earned a 3.99 grade point average while majoring in finance and accounting. He is a two-time academic All-Big Ten honoree, and has been named to the President’s List three times and the Dean’s List six times.

Dunn was named a Big Ten Distinguished Scholar award winner in 2012. He finished his career with 36 singles victories, and in 2012 he was named Iowa’s Most Valuable Player after leading the team in Big Ten victories.
