Disterhoft Named PARADE All-American

IOWA CITY, Iowa — University of Iowa women’s basketball signee Ally Disterhoft has been named to the 2013 PARADE All-America Girls Basketball Team. The Iowa City native was one of 40 high school seniors selected to the All-America team.

Iowa was one of two Big Ten teams with an incoming freshman named to the squad.

Disterhoft — named Miss Iowa Basketball by the Iowa Newspaper Association and the Iowa Gatorade Player of the Year — averaged 26.3 points, 5.4 rebounds, 2.6 steals and 2.2 assists per game as a senior. She led Iowa City West High School to a state tournament appearance this season after helping her team claim a state title last year.

Disterhoft is an ESPN HoopGurlz Top 100 recruit and has earned numerous first team all-state honors in her high school career. She holds multiple West High school records and is also a standout track and field athlete.

Disterhoft also excels in the classroom. She holds a 4.0 grade-point average and has already been awarded direct admission into the Tippie College of Business for academic achievement.
