IOWA CITY, Iowa — The start times for four University of Iowa football games have been announced, including the Homecoming contest against Michigan State. The Big Ten Conference announced start times of selected games today, with the majority of the contests serving as Homecoming for the host institution.
The Hawkeyes’ Homecoming game against Michigan State on Oct. 5 at Kinnick Stadium will kickoff at 11 a.m. (CT). The game will be televised on either BTN or an ESPN platform (ABC, ESPN, ESPN2 or ESPNU). Iowa holds an all-time Homecoming record of 55-41-5, including a 6-0-1 mark versus Michigan State. Iowa won its last four Homecoming contests, including last season’s 31-13 triumph over Minnesota to regain possession of Floyd of Rosedale.
Iowa will also be on the road for two Big Ten opponent Homecoming games in 2013. The Hawkeyes’ road contests at Minnesota (Sept. 28) and Ohio State (Oct. 19) will both start at 2:30 p.m. (CT). Both contests will be aired on ABC, with an ESPN or ESPN2 mirror.
For the third consecutive season, the Hy-Vee Heroes Game between Iowa and Nebraska will be televised on ABC the day after Thanksgiving, Nov. 29, beginning at 11 a.m.
Start times and television information for Iowa’s remaining games have not yet been released. The Big Ten Conference is expected to announce start times for the first three weeks of the season in the near future.
The Hawkeyes open the season Aug. 31, against Northern Illinois in Kinnick Stadium. Iowa then hosts Missouri State (Sept. 7), plays at Iowa State (Sept. 14) and hosts Western Michigan (Sept. 21).
