IOWA CITY, Iowa — University of Iowa senior tight end C.J. Fiedorowicz is one of 29 players in the nation to be named to the John Mackey Award Midseason Watch List. The announcement was made by the Mackey Award Tuesday.

Fiedorowicz, a native of Johnsburg, Ill., has 11 receptions for 98 yards and two touchdowns through six games. He has at least one reception in 24 straight games, a streak that ranks second best in the nation among FBS tight ends. As a junior, he had 45 receptions for 433 yards and one touchdown.

He earned honorable mention all-Big Ten recognition from league coaches and media a year ago. Fiedorowicz has 72 career receptions for 698 yards and four touchdowns. He is one of five tight ends from the Big Ten Conference named to the midseason list.

Semifinal candidates for the Mackey Award will be announced Nov. 18 and the finalist list will be announced Nov. 25. The John Mackey Award has been given annually to the most outstanding tight end in college football since 2000. The award boasts 12 NFL alumni as past recipients, including former Hawkeye Dallas Clark, who received the award in 2002.
