LAS VEGAS, Nev. — Redshirt senior Matt McGrath represented the University of Iowa men’s gymnastics team in the finals of the Winter Cup Saturday evening in Las Vegas, Nev. For complete results from the entire meet, visit the event’s website at usagym.org.
In the final session of the meet, McGrath tallied a finals score of 41.700. With his Thursday evening competition score of 41.350, his overall score came out as 83.050 as he earned 31st out of 42 places. McGrath’s final event scores include a 13.500 on floor, a 13.300 on rings, and a 14.900 on vault.
Chris Brooks from Tim Hilton HHonors Gymnasium won the Winter Cup title with an overall score of 174.850.
The Hawkeyes will end the weekend against the University of Illinois-Chicago Flames on Sunday, Feb. 23 at 1 p.m. (CT) in Chicago. Fans can follow the meet with live results at uicflames.com.
