MILWAUKEE — The University of Iowa soccer team posted a pair of draws Sunday in Milwaukee. The Hawkeyes battled Marquette to a scoreless draw before tying Milwaukee, 1-1.
“There were some very good moments today,” said UI head coach Ron Rainey. “We played excellent team defense, but we have to clean up our possession this week.”
Freshman Corey Burns scored Iowa’s lone goal of the afternoon against the Panthers. Junior Melanie Pickert and sophomore Lana Bonekemper were credited with assists on the strike.
The results move Iowa’s record to 2-0-2 this spring with a pair of contests remaining. The Hawkeyes return to action Saturday at Kansas beginning at 1 p.m.
