Hawkeyes Head to Dallas Athletic Club Invitational

THIS WEEK
The Hawkeyes travel to Dallas, Texas, to compete at the Dallas Athletic Club Invitational on April 4-6. Live scoring will be available throughout the tournament at golfstat.com.

ABOUT THE COURSE
Dallas Athletic Club’s two golf courses offer a distinctive blend of beauty and challenge. Designed by Jack Nicklaus, the thirty six holes have played host to numerous Championship Tournaments.

TOURNAMENT FORMAT
Tee times start at 8 a.m. (CT) on Friday and Saturday, while the final round is set to begin with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. (CT) on Sunday.

“We are looking forward to playing Dallas Athletic Club this week,” said head coach Megan Menzel. “Our team has been able to get some rounds in this past week and that helps a lot with confidence. We have learned a lot this spring and have been able to play some quality golf courses that I feel have prepared us well for the tournaments we have coming up in April. Dallas Athletic Club is a great venue and the team is looking forward to the opportunity to play in a great tournament.”

HAWKEYE LINE-UP
Shelby Phillips, Jessie Sindlinger, Karly Grouwinkel, Briana Midkiff, and Allison Lindley will be competing for the Hawkeyes at the Dallas Athletic Club Invitational.

THE COMPETITION
The field of competition includes: Baylor, Iowa, Kansas, Kansas State, Kent State, LSU, Nebraska, North Carolina, North Texas, Oklahoma State, Purdue, SMU, TCU, Texas Tech, UTSA, and Wake Forest.

HAWKEYES SET SCHOOL RECORD
The Hawkeyes fired an 877 (+13) to establish a new 54-hole school record at the Westbrook Invitational on Feb. 23-24. The previous record was set at the Westbrook Invitational in 2012 when the team shot an 879. The Hawkeyes’ 36-hole score of 585 is good for third overall in Iowa history, and their 18-hole score of 291 ties for fifth.

STRONG START FOR PHILLIPS
Junior Shelby Phillips paced the Hawkeyes at the Westbrook Invitational. The Arizona native carded a three-round total of 216 to tie for 14th place and mark her third top-20 finish of the year. Phillips’ score also ranks third among Iowa’s all-time best 36-hole performances.

RETURN TO ACTION
Iowa returns to action at the Lady Buckeye Invitational on April 19-20. The 54-hole tournament will be hosted by Ohio State in Columbus, Ohio.
