LAWRENCE, Kan. — The University of Iowa soccer team posted its third victory of the spring, shutting out Kansas, 2-0, Saturday at the Jayhawk Soccer Complex.
“This was a nice result for our program,” said UI head coach Ron Rainey. “There are a lot of things we need to keep working on, but we liked some of our segments of possession and are very proud of the way we defended.”
After playing to a draw in the first half, the Hawkeyes scored both of their goals over the final 45 minutes. Junior Cloe Lacasse accounted for both of the strikes. Sophomore Marissa Hurt assisted on the first goal, while Lacasse’s second was unassisted.
Iowa (3-0-2) will now have three weeks off before hosting Northern Illinois on April 26 at 3 p.m. (CT) at the Iowa Soccer Complex.
