Iowa’s 36-hole score of 620 (+44) was good for seventh place, finishing ahead of five Big Ten teams, including nationally ranked Wisconsin.
“We were hoping to make a move on the leaderboard, but we lost a few shots coming in today,” said head coach Megan Menzel. “We were tough, and the team continues to be patient.”
Senior Karly Grouwinkel and freshman Jessie Sindlinger are tied for 25th place with a two round total of 155 (+11). Grouwinkel fired 77 (+5). Sindlinger shot a 76 (+4), improving three strokes from the opening round.
“I played steady golf on the front nine today and had to battle a little on the back,” said Grouwinkel. “My goal was to stay patient and keep making pars. The team is still in a good spot heading into the final day. We have a good game plan, and if we stick to it, we will have a good day.”
After 36 holes, sophomore Briana Midkiff and freshman Allison Lindley are tied for 41st with a 159 (+15). Midkiff recorded an 88 (+6), while Lindley totaled an 83 (+11).
