IOWA CITY, Iowa — The start times for three University of Iowa football games have been announced, including the Oct. 11 Homecoming contest against Indiana. The Big Ten Conference announced start times of selected games today, with the majority of the contests serving as Homecoming for the host institution.
Iowa’s Homecoming game against the Hoosiers at Kinnick Stadium will start at 11 a.m. (CT). The game will be televised on either BTN or an ESPN platform (ABC, ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU). Iowa holds an all-time Homecoming record of 55-42-5, including a 9-5-1 mark versus Indiana. Iowa won four straight Homecoming contests (2009-12) before a loss to Michigan State a year ago.
Iowa and Indiana did not meet last season. The Hawkeyes hold a 42-28-4 overall record in the series, but the Hoosiers prevailed, 24-21, in Bloomington in 2012 in the most recent meeting. Iowa celebrated a 45-24 Homecoming win over the Hoosiers in 2011 when the teams last met in Iowa City.
Iowa will also be on the road for two Big Ten opponent Homecoming games in 2014. Hawkeye road contests at Purdue (Sept. 27) and Maryland (Oct. 18) will both start at 11 a.m. (CT). Television information for those games will be released at a later date.
Start times and television information for Iowa’s remaining games have not yet been released. The Big Ten Conference is expected to announce start times for the first three weeks of the season in the near future.
The Hawkeyes open the season Aug. 30, hosting Northern Iowa in Kinnick Stadium. Iowa then hosts Ball State (Sept. 6), and Iowa State (Sept. 13) before closing non-conference play at Pittsburgh (Sept. 20).
The UI Athletics Ticket Office is currently entering the home stretch of a “re-seat” of historic Kinnick Stadium that provided all of last year’s season ticket customers the opportunity to select new seat locations inside Kinnick for the coming season and several more to follow.
When that process is completed later this month, fans interesting in becoming new season ticket holders will have the chance to make their ticket purchases. To be provided a date and a time to make their selection, fans needs to send an e-mail to tickets@hawkeyesports.com.
General public season tickets are priced at $395 each, while UI faculty and staff season tickets are $325. If tickets are available, three-game ticket packages will go on sale in mid-June and single-game ticket sales will begin in July.
The UI is accepting orders for discount-priced tickets to select home games. To learn more about those options fans should call (319) 384-4299 and ask for Eric Heinkel. Fans interested in packages that include games tickets and pre-game entertainment and dining inside Hawkeye Village, the UI game-day corporate hospitality option, should call Bravo Sports Marketing at (319) 626-8286.
