June 5, 2014

IOWA CITY, Iowa — Tiffany Goldwire has been named a women’s basketball recruiting assistant at the University of Iowa, head coach Lisa Bluder announced Thursday.

“Tiffany is a welcome addition to our staff,” said Bluder. “She will be helping us with recruiting organization. Tiffany has had great experience as a graduate assistant at Missouri Western, and we look forward to having her as a member of our Hawkeye family.”

“I would like to thank Gary Barta, coach Bluder, and the entire Hawkeye family for this opportunity,” said Goldwire. “I am thrilled to join the Hawkeye family. I am blessed to be a part of the rich Iowa tradition. I am excited to be able to work with my sister as well as learn and grow with the help of all these extremely intelligent women. I am thrilled to be here and am looking forward to the upcoming year.”

Goldwire played basketball at Northern Oklahoma College for two years, and was named the Region II MVP. She then played at Oklahoma City University, winning the 2012 National Championship at the NAIA-DI level. Goldwire was team captain, an honorable mention All-American and second team all-conference selection (2012) at OKC University. She received a bachelor’s degree from OKC University in 2012. Goldwire then attended Missouri Western, worked as a graduate assistant for its women’s basketball program and received a Master’s degree in sports and fitness management in May.

Goldwire’s sister, Lacey, is entering her second season as an assistant coach at Iowa.

Iowa will return 10 letterwinners from a team that went 27-9 in 2014 and made its Big Ten-best seventh-consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance.
