IOWA CITY, Iowa — The combination of rain that has already fallen and predictions for additional rain will result in at least half of the available football gameday parking on grass surfaces at the University of Iowa’s Finkbine Golf Course to not be available for Saturday’s football game, the UI Athletics Department announced today.

The UI Athletics Department also noted that it will update the status of the remaining portion of grass parking at Finkbine Golf Course on Friday. Rain is in the forecast for Iowa City for tonight and portions of Thursday and Friday.

Finkbine Golf Course is one of the parking lots on game days that is accessible to fans of the Iowa Hawkeyes who are not members of the National I-Club. Other general public parking lots include Lot 11 near the UI’s Campus Wellness and Recreation Center located on Madison Street immediately east of the Iowa River, the parking lot adjacent to the new Hancher Auditorium and the Levitt Center for University Advancement (free parking and shuttle service provided), Lot 85 (“Hawkeye Commuter,” free parking and shuttle service provided) located immediatelynortheast of Finkbine Golf Course and accessible off Hawkins Drive.

Fans are also invited to consider riding the Hawkeye Express. The UI’s “Train to the Game” provides pre-game and post-game service from nearby Coralville to the southwest corner of Kinnick Stadium. The Hawkeye Express depot is located near southeast corner of the intersection of U.S. Highway 6 and 25th Avenue
