IOWA CITY, Iowa — The University of Iowa football program has 28 former Hawkeyes on NFL rosters.
Jonathan Babineaux – DL – Atlanta Falcons: Babineaux started in Sunday’s contest against the Browns. He recorded three tackles. Babineaux has started in ten out of eleven games this season, only missing one due to a foot injury. Babineaux has spent all ten years in the league with the Falcons.
Conor Boffeli – OL – Chicago Bears: Boffeli has been a member of the Bears’ practice squad since October 2, 2014. During his Iowa career, he started 16 consecutive games after taking over the left guard spot with three games remaining in his junior season. Boffeli entered the NFL in 2014 as an undrafted rookie free agent with the Minnesota Vikings.
Bryan Bulaga – OL – Green Bay Packers:Bulaga started in Sunday’s win against the Vikings. He has appeared in every game this season except week two when he suffered a knee injury. Bulaga was selected by the Packers in the first round of the 2010 draft, 23rd overall.
Scott Chandler – TE – Buffalo Bills: Chandler saw action in Monday night’s game against the Jets. He recorded 3 receptions for 28 yards and one touchdown. Chandler was ranked 17th in career receiving yards at Iowa with 117 catches for 1,467 yards. This season he has 29 receptions for 335 yards.
Adrian Clayborn – DL – Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Clayborn has been placed on injured reserve after sustaining a torn pectoral muscle. He will miss the rest of the 2014 season. Clayborn was selected in the first round of the 2011 draft ( 20th overall) by Tampa Bay. This is his fourth season with the Buccaneers.
Colin Cole – DL – Carolina Panthers: The Panthers had a bye during week 12. Cole is in his second season with the Panthers and tenth year in the league. He entered the NFL in 2003 as an undrafted free agent with the Vikings.
Mike Daniels – DL – Green Bay Packers: Daniels started in this weekend’s victory over the Vikings. He tallied one tackle and was credited with one sack. During his 2013 season with the Packers, Daniels ranked second on the team with a career-best 6.5 sack, which tied for sixth among all NLF DT’s. It was the most by a Packers defensive lineman since B.J. Raji in 2010.
James Ferentz – OL – Houston Texans: Ferentz signed with the Texans on May 16, 2014 and is a member of their practice squad. He is one of two Hawkeye rookies on the team, C.J. Fiedorowicz being the other. During his time at Iowa he was a three-year starter at center making 38 consecutive starts.
C.J. Fiedorowicz – TE – Houston Texans:Fiedorowicz started Sunday against the Bengals. He has started five out of nine games during his rookie season. Fiedorowicz was selected by the Texans with the first pick in the third round (65th overall) in the 2014 NFL Draft.
Bradley Fletcher – DB – Philadelphia Eagles: Fletcher started Sunday against the Titans tallying two tackles and two pass break ups. Fletcher has defended a total of 18 passes and one interception this season. During his time at Iowa he led the team with ten pass break ups and three interceptions. Fletcher tied for fifth in the Big Ten and 38th in the nation in passes defended.
Adam Gettis – G – Pittsburgh Steelers: The Steelers had a bye during week 12. Gettis was signed to the Steeler’s practice squad on October 15, 2014. He previously played one season with the Washington Redskins where he saw action in all 13 games.
Charles Godfrey – DB – Atlanta Falcons: Godfrey saw action Sunday against the Panthers. He signed with the Falcons on October 28, 2014. This is his first season with the Falcons after previously spending six seasons with the Panthers.
Shonn Greene – RB – Tennessee Titans: Greene saw action in Monday night’s game against the Eagles. He had six carries for fifteen yards and one touchdown, his second of the season. Greene is in his second season with the Titans. In 2008 Greene set Iowa’s school record with 20 rushing touchdowns. Greene currently has 24 NFL career touchdowns.
Chad Greenway – LB – Minnesota Vikings: Greenway started this weekend against the Packers notching nine tackles, which puts his season total at 65. Greenway is in his ninth season in the league, all spent with the Vikings. He was selected in the first round of the 2006 draft, 17th overall.
Anthony Hitchens – LB – Dallas Cowboys: Hitchens started in Sunday’s win over the Giants registering seven tackles. This is his sixth start of his rookie season. Hitchens was selected by the Cowboys during the fourth round (119th overall) in the 2014 NFL Draft.
Micah Hyde – CB – Green Bay Packers: Hyde saw action this weekend against the Vikings. He recorded four tackles, one interception, one pass break up and was credited with one sack. During his career at Iowa, Hyde tied for 18th on the career chart with eight pass interceptions and ranked fourth in the Big Ten in pass break ups.
Christian Kirksey – LB – Cleveland Browns: Rookie Kirksey started this weekend in a match-up against the Falcons tallying five tackles. He has started five of eleven games and has seen action in every game this season.
Karl Klug – DL – Tennessee Titans: Klug saw action this weekend against the Steelers notching two tackles. As a rookie in 2011, Klug compiled a team-high seven sacks. The total tied for sixth place in sacks among all NFL rookies, tied for fourth among all NFL defensive tackles, and led all NFL rookie defensive tackles.
Tony Moeaki -TE – Seattle Seahawks: Moeaki saw action in Sunday’s win over the Cardinals recording five receptions for 34 yards. Moeaki, in his first season with the Seahawks, has a career total of 85 receptions for 1,044 yards and five touchdowns. He signed with the Seahawks Nov. 4, 2014.
James Morris – LB – New England Patriots: Morris is on the Patriots’ reserved/injured list. Morris was the sixth player in Iowa history to record 400 career tackles. He was also the first linebacker to lead the team in sacks since 1986 when they became an official statistic. Morris signed with the Patriots on May 16, 2014 and saw action in two preseason games.
Brandon Myers – TE – Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Myers saw action in this weekend’s game against the Bears. He recorded one reception for nine yards. Myers, a sixth round pick in the 2009 draft, is in his first season with the Buccaneers. He has a season total of 18 receptions for 169 yards.
Shaun Prater – DB – Minnesota Vikings: Prater saw action this weekend against the Packers. This is his third year in the league and second year with the Vikings. He was drafted in the 5th round of the 2012 NFL Draft by the Cincinnati Bengals.
Riley Reiff – OL – Detroit Lions: Reiff started this weekend against the Patriots. He has started the last 38 games over the past three seasons with the Lions. Reiff was Detroit’s first round pick in 2012, marking the third-straight season an Iowa player was selected in the first round of the NFL Draft.
Allen Reisner-TE-Baltimore Ravens: Reisner was added to the Ravens’ practice squad on Nov. 17, 2014 after spending the 2013 season with the Jaguars. Reisner was named to second team All-Big Ten during his senior year at Iowa and started all 13 games recording 42 receptions for 460 yards.
Jeff Tarpinian – LB – Houston Texans: Tarpinian saw action Sunday against the Bengals. Midway through the season Tarpinian spent time out of the game due to a knee injury. He has since played in three games. Tarpinian has been with the Texans for one season.
Matt Tobin – OL – Philadelphia Eagles: Tobin saw action Sunday against the Titans, however had limited playing time due to injury. In a week 11 match-up against Packers, Tobin suffered a concussion. He did no participate in practice the following Tuesday or Wednesday. Prior to this injury Tobin started the past seven games, replacing an injured Todd Herremans.
Julian Vandervelde – G – Philadelphia Eagles: Vandervelde was re-signed to the Eagles’ practice squad on October 14, 2014. He was drafted by the Eagles in 2011 during the fifth-round of the NFL draft and was a member of their practice squad in 2012. Vandervelde was a four-year letterman at Iowa and was named to second-team All-Big Ten.
Marshal Yanda – OL – Baltimore Ravens:Yanda started Sunday against the Titans. Over the past several weeks Yanda has been on the Ravens’ injury report dealing with a knee injury and has had limited participation in practice up until Nov. 22 when he had full participation. He is in his eighth season with the Ravens.
