IOWA CITY, Iowa — Five local Hy-Vee stores have partnered with the University of Iowa women’s basketball team by purchasing 2,000 tickets to Iowa’s game against Colorado in Iowa City on Sunday, Dec. 7, at 2 p.m. (CT).
Fans can stop by one of the five Hy-Vee stores in Iowa City or Coralville to pick up a free ticket to the game. Tickets, while supplies last, can be picked up at the customer service counters at any of the five Iowa City or Coralville locations (First Ave, N. Dodge, Waterfront, Coralville Strip, and the Hy-Vee Drugstore on the corner of Rochester and 1st Ave).
Regular ticket prices for UI women’s basketball weekend games are $12 for adults and $8 for children (18 and under). UI students are admitted free with a valid student ID.
The first 1,000 fans to enter Carver-Hawkeye Arena will receive a free Hawkeye ornament when the Hawkeyes host the Buffaloes. Several UI women’s teams will sign autographs before the game and the entire Iowa women’s basketball team will sign autographs after the game to celebrate National Girls and Women in Sports Day.
No. 19 Iowa (6-1) plays at No. 7 Louisville (7-0) on Thursday at 6 p.m. (CT) in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge before returning home to host Colorado. Sunday, fans are encouraged to bring a new toy to donate to the UI Children’s Hospital and it is Ugly Sweater Day at Carver-Hawkeye Arena.
