THIS WEEK:
The University of Iowa women’s golf team travels to Columbus, Ohio, to take part in the Lady Buckeye Invitational. The 54-hole tournament (Par-72, Yards-6,268) will begin Saturday with an 8:30 a.m. (CT) shotgun start. The action will conclude Sunday with rounds two and three starting at 8:30 a.m. (CT). The tournament will be played at the Ohio State University Golf Club on the Scarlet Course.

THE LINE-UP:
Shelby Phillips will play in the first spot, followed by Amy Ihm in the two spot. Jessie Sindlinger is sloted in the third spot, follwed by Jessica Ip and Briana Midkiff. Rounding out the team is Nicole Rae. The top four scores will count towards the overall team score.

PARTICIPATING TEAMS:
The field of 12 teams consists of: Akron, Illinois, Indiana, Indianapolis, Iowa, Kansas State, Kent State, Maryland, Michigan, Michigan State, Ohio State, and Toledo. Last year, Ohio State won the event with a three round total of 892.

IHM LEADING THE WAY:
In two of the past four tournaments, Amy Ihm has finished in the top 25. Most recently she carded a three round total 220 (+4), posting rounds of 75, 74 and 71, en route to a 12th place finish at the BYU Entrada Classic. She has been the team’s top finisher in three of the four Spring tournaments the Hawkeyes have participated in so far. At this point in the 2014-15 season, the junior has registered a 76.7 per-round scoring average, third lowest on the team.

LAST TIME OUT:
Iowa sent Morgan Kukla, Jessie Jordan and Nicole Rae to participate as individuals at the Saluki Invitational on March 29-30. Kukla tallied a two-round total of 157 (+13). The freshman finished the competition tied for fourth place overall in the field of 62, seven strokes off the leader. Jordan finish tied for ninth, with a two-round total 161 (+17). At its last competition as a team, Iowa earned an 11th place finished in the field of 20 teams, at the Mountain View Collegiate.

PHILLIPS PUTS HER NAME IN RECORD BOOKS AGAIN:
Shelby Phillips became the latest name penciled into the Hawkeye record book with her third round efforts at the Mountain View Collegiate. The senior recorded a 68 (-4) in the final round in Tucson, putting her name in the Iowa record books, tying Kristi Cardwell, Tyrette Metzendorf and most recently Jessie Sindlinger for the second-lowest 18-hole score all-time. Phillips previously put her name in the Iowa record books by carding a three-round total of 216 to tie for 14th place at last Westbrook Spring Invitational. Phillips’ score ranks third among Iowa’s all-time best performances. As a team the Hawkeyes tallied a total 877 (+13) to establish a new 54-hole school record.

MENZEL ON LADY BUCKEYE INVITATIONAL:
“We are excited to get out and compete again. The team has gotten a lot of rounds in and worked on their games the past few weeks. We continue to make good progress this Spring, ” said UI head coach Megan Menzel.
