INDIANAPOLIS — After two rounds at the Big Ten Championships, the University of Iowa women’s golf team sits 11th in the 14-team field, one stroke behind Nebraska for 10th. The Hawkeyes registered a first round 305 (+17) on Friday before tallying a second round 303 (+15) Saturday.
Amy Ihm, Shelby Phillips, and Jessica Ip are all tied for 33rd heading into the final round on Sunday. Through two rounds, Ihm carded a total 151 (+7), posting rounds of 75 and 76. She birdied hole five and made par on 13 holes in round two. Phillips thus far has posted a two round 151 (+7), including rounds of 75 and 76. She made par on 14 holes in the second round.
Ip carded a second round 73 (+1), improving five strokes from her first round effort in which she tallied a 78 (+6). Ip registered four birdies in the second round including holes one, six, 11, and 16.
Sophomore Jessie Sindlinger carded a second round 78 (+6), birdieing holes two and three on the front nine. With a two-round total 155 (+11), she is tied for 54th.
Elisa Suarez carded a second round 78 (+6). She birdied holes one and 10 while also making par on nine total holes. After two rounds Suarez goes into the third round with a 158 (+14), posting rounds of 76 and 78.
Morgan Kukla posted a two-round total 163 (+19), including rounds of 79 and 84. She is tied for 77th.
Iowa wraps up its’ season on Sunday at 8:30 a.m. (CT) with the third round at the Big Ten Championships.
