DAVENPORT, Iowa — Former University of Iowa All-American Diane Nukuri placed fourth at the Bix 7 road race last weekend.
Nukuri completed the seven-mile course in 37:10, two seconds behind reigning Boston Marathon winner Carolina Rotich (37:08). Kenya’s Cynthia Limo won the women’s race in 36:57.
Nukuri was a three-time All-American at Iowa from 2006-08. She won the 2007 Big Ten cross country championship and was named women’s cross country athlete of the year. She won the Big Ten 5,000 meter outdoor title in 2008, and held eight school records when she graduated.
She is also a former Olympian, having represented Burundi at the 2012 London Games.
