IOWA CITY, Iowa — Jason Kerst will join the University of Iowa men’s tennis program, head coach Ross Wilson announced Tuesday.
Kerst hails from Ann Arbor, Michigan, and attended Skyline High School. The four-star recruit is currently ranked No. 2 in the state of Michigan and No. 113 nationally. Kerst has competed in Super Nationals for eight years as well as ITF tournaments in Montreal and Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.
“I am beyond excited to be joining the Hawkeyes program,” said Kerst. “Coach Wilson and Coach Ouellette are doing great things with this team. I know the Hawkeyes are capable of becoming a top program in the Big Ten and nationwide.
“I am thrilled to reach my goal of joining a strong and dedicated major conference team, and I look forward to everything that the next four years hold. After visiting numerous schools, I know that there is no better place for me to achieve my goals than UI,” added Kerst.
“Jason’s passion and work ethic for the game are undeniable,” said Wilson. “We are excited for everything he will bring to our team on and off the court.”
