IOWA CITY, Iowa — The University of Iowa volleyball team will host its annual Black and Gold Scrimmage on Saturday, Aug. 20 at Carver-Hawkeye Arena. The scrimmage is set for 3 p.m. (CT) in the practice facility located on the second floor. Doors will open to the public at 2 p.m. Admission is free.
Hawkeye fans can see the 2016 squad in action for the first time. Iowa returns 11 letters from 2015 and welcomes five newcomers to its roster.
Live updates will be available on the team’s live match Twitter feed, @IowaVB_Live. The team will sign autographs immediately following the match.
The Hawkeyes open the 2016 regular season at the Northern Illinois Tournament, Aug. 27-28. Iowa is scheduled to play Loyola-Chicago and DePaul on Aug. 27, before taking on the host Huskies on Aug. 28.
