IOWA CITY, Iowa — The University of Iowa soccer team earned the National Soccer Coaches Association of America’s (NSCAA) Team Academic Award for exemplary performance in the classroom during the 2015-16 academic year.

The Hawkeyes were among a total of 577 women’s soccer teams from across the country to receive the honor. To qualify for the award, a team must have a minimum grade point average of 3.0 or higher for the entire academic year.

The team GPA is determined by adding every player’s GPA, then dividing by the number of players. Iowa held a team GPA of 3.14 in 2015-16. The program has received the NSCAA Team Academic Award 13 times in program history.

The Hawkeyes face No. 17 Minnesota tonight at 7 p.m. (CT) in Minneapolis. The game will be streamed on BTN Plus.
