EUGENE, Ore. – The University of Iowa men’s tennis team (5-3) dropped its first matchup with the Oregon Ducks (7-1), 5-2, today at the Student Tennis Center on Oregon’s campus.
 
Sophomore Jonas Larsen and red-shirt freshman Kareem Allaf won three set singles wins. Allaf defeated Jayson Amos, 6-4, 4-6, 6-3, on court three while Larsen took down Cormac Clissold, 6-1, 0-6, 7-5, in the five spot.
 
The Hawkeyes dropped the doubles point on courts one and three. Senior Robin Haden and junior Jake Jacoby saw their first lost as a pair this season.
 
Jacoby and junior Lefteris Theodorou had three set losses at the top and bottom of the lineup.
 
The Hawkeyes are on the road again next week for a matchup against the Denver Pioneers in Colorado, Feb. 19.
