IOWA CITY, Iowa — University of Iowa sophomore Megan Gustafson has been named to the Big Ten Women’s Basketball Player of the Week Honor Roll, the conference office announced Monday. It is the sixth weekly honor of Gustafson’s career and her fifth of the season.

Gustafson averaged 20.5 points and 16.0 rebounds in a pair of conference games against Indiana and Wisconsin last week. She shot .667 from the field and registered a pair of double-doubles in 78 minutes of action.

The Port Wing, Wisconsin, native tallied her 14th double-double of the season with 19 points and 18 rebounds at Indiana. Gustafson finished just one rebound shy of her career high (19, at Minnesota, 2/15/16).

Four days later, Gustafson scored a team-high 22 points on 10-of-13 shooting from the field to lead Iowa to a win over Wisconsin. She pulled down a team-leading 14 boards to register her 15th double-double of the season and her second in as many games.

On the season, Gustafson is averaging 18.0 points and 10.0 rebounds. She’s shooting .635 from the field — a mark that ranks second in the Big Ten and sixth nationally.

Gustafson earned Big Ten Player of the Week accolades on Nov. 14 before being named to the Honor Roll on Dec. 26, Jan. 2, and Jan. 23. She garnered Big Ten Freshman of the Week honors on Feb. 22, 2016.

The eighth-seeded Hawkeyes begin 2017 Big Ten Tournament play on Thursday against ninth-seeded Northwestern.  Tipoff is set for 11 a.m. (CT) at Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis. With a win, Iowa will advance to play top-seeded Ohio State on Friday at 11 a.m.
