IOWA CITY, Iowa — The University of Iowa men’s tennis team was edged, 4-3, by Penn State (11-7, 2-1), outside Sunday afternoon at the Hawkeye Tennis and Recreation Complex. 
 
In singles action, sophomore Jonas Larsen picked up his first win at No. 3 this season. He defeated Christos Antonopoulos in straight sets, 6-3, 6-1.
 
Redshirt freshman Kareem Allaf notched his first win in the one spot with a victory over Contant De La Bassetiere, 6-4, 6-1.
 
Hawkeye junior Josh Silverstein collected his third win at No. 2 this season, beating Christian Lakoseljac, 6-3, 6-1.
 
Iowa dropped the doubles point to start the match, losing matches one and three by the scores of 7-5 and 6-3, respectively. 
 
The Hawkeyes return to action next weekend for a road trip through the Land of Lincoln. Iowa will start at No. 28 Illinois on Saturday before heading north to take on 19th-ranked Northwestern on Sunday.
