GymHawks Ranked No. 20 in Preseason Poll

IOWA CITY, Iowa — The University of Iowa women’s gymnastics team is ranked No. 20 in the Road to Nationals Coaches’ Preseason Poll, the organization announced Monday.
 
34530The Hawkeyes received 819 points in coaches’ votes. Oklahoma was ranked first, while Florida and LSU followed at second and third, respectively.
 
Iowa — who finished the 2017 season ranked No. 18 — faces seven top-25 teams during the regular season: Michigan (7), Nebraska (9), Missouri (17), Ohio State (22), Illinois (23), Southern Utah (24), and Penn State (25).
 
The 2018 Hawkeyes return 14 letterwinners and welcome five new additions to the team.
 
The GymHawks open the regular season in Tempe, Arizona, in a tri-meet with Arizona State and Iowa State on Jan. 6 at 5 p.m. (CT). Iowa opens its home slate against No. 22 Ohio State on Jan. 19 at 7 p.m. at Carver-Hawkeye Arena.

Season tickets are $30 and all seating is general admission. Youth ages 18 and under and UI students receive free admission to all regular season home meets.
