Iowa Earns Team Academic Award for 12th Straight Year

IOWA CITY, Iowa — The University of Iowa soccer team earned the United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Award for exemplary performance in the classroom during the 2017-18 academic year.  It is the 12th straight year the Hawkeyes have received the recognition. 

Iowa was among a total of 484 women’s soccer teams from across the country to receive the honor. To qualify for the award, a team must have a minimum grade point average of 3.0 or higher for the entire academic year.
 
The Hawkeyes held a 3.16 team grade point average during the 2017-18 academic year. The program has received the United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Award 16 times in its history.
 
Iowa returns to action Friday, facing No. 22 Nebraska in Lincoln.  Game time is set for 7 p.m. (CT).
