IOWA CITY, Iowa — The University of Iowa men’s tennis team returns to action this weekend at the Big Ten Indoor Singles and Doubles Championships held at the Varsity Tennis Center on the campus of the University of Michigan.

A season ago, Will Davies and Piotr Smietana were doubles finalists and the Hawkeyes also advanced a Big Ten-best five student-athletes to the Round of 16 in the singles bracket.

Last weekend at the ITA Central Regional, Oliver OkonkwoKareem Allaf, and Davies advanced to the Round of 16 in singles play. That feat was tied for the most of any school at the regional. Allaf ultimately won the tournament and made program history, winning six consecutive matches.

Draws will be announced last this week with action beginning Friday morning. Seven Hawkeyes are scheduled to compete in the tournament.
