IOWA CITY, Iowa — The University of Iowa women’s gymnastics team is ranked No. 29 in the Road to Nationals Preseason Coaches’ Poll, the organization announced Monday.
The GymHawks received 442 points in coaches’ votes. Six Big Ten teams are ranked in the top-30.
The GymHawks were ranked No. 33 at the conclusion of the 2018 season. In the 2019 season, Iowa will face 12 opponents ranked in the top 36, and six ranked in the top-20.
Iowa returns 12 letterwinners and adds seven freshmen.
Season tickets are available at hawkeyesports.com/tickets, by calling 1-800-IA-Hawks, or at the UI Athletics Ticket Office at the north entrance of Carver-Hawkeye Arena.
Season tickets are $40 and all seating is general admission. Youth ages 18 and under and UI students receive free admission to all regular season home meets.
The GymHawks open up their season Jan. 4 at No. 14 Auburn at 7 p.m. (CT). Iowa opens up its home slate vs. Southeast Missouri State at Carver-Hawkeye Arena on Jan. 11 at 6:30 p.m. (CT).
