IOWA CITY, Iowa — The University of Iowa volleyball team announced the addition of right side hitter Aisha Skinner, head coach Bond Shymansky announced Tuesday.
Skinner, a native of Berlin, Germany, played in 33 matches at Hofstra during her freshman season. Skinner amassed 410 kills and 299 digs for second and third on the team, respectively, including a career-high 23 kills in a win over Charleston on Nov. 1.
“Aisha is an explosive athlete and has been a successful terminator on the German Junior National Team,” UI head coach Bond Shymansky said. “We know she will add a wealth of experience from the international game and a unique perspective on the game of volleyball overall. Aisha is a joyful competitor and person and I know the people in our program will embrace her.”
Prior to Hofstra, Skinner spent seven years playing volleyball for SLZB in Berlin, where her team won the 2015 and 2018 German Championship. She won match MVP honors nine times.
