Lohan Advances to Round of 16 at Pro Circuit Event

NAPLES, Florida — Jason Kerst and Morgan Lohan competed Tuesday at the USTA/ITF Men’s Pro Circuit Event at the Sanchez-Casal Academy.
 
Lohan put together a solid day advancing to the Round of 16 in singles competition. In his opening match, Lohan beat Marlon Omdahl in decisive fashion, 6-1, 6-3. Lohan stayed hot defeating Kim Pan Zhu in straight sets, 6-1, 6-0. Lohan will compete in the Round of 16 Wednesday at 11 a.m. (ET).  
 
Kerst lost his opening match to Tommaso Carnevale-Miino of Italy, 6-4, 6-2. In doubles action, the Hawkeye duo fell to Acob/Rajia, 6-2, 7-6(8).
 
“It was great to see our guys play some solid tennis today,” assistant coach Joey Manilla said. “Morgan (Lohan) has put in a lot of work to get back in shape after his injury so I’m sure it felt nice to get some wins under his belt.”
