LAS VEGAS, Nevada — University of Iowa gymnasts sophomore Bennet Huang and freshman Evan Davis finished strong, competing in all six events in the Winter Cup Finals on Sunday in Las Vegas. 

MEET HIGHLIGHTS

Huang tied for fifth on floor with his two-session score of 27.750. Davis posted an overall score of 26.750 on high bar to finish in eighth. 

HOW IT HAPPENED

Floor

Huang tied for fifth by tying his season-high (14.000) to earn an overall 27.750, and Davis bested his season best with a 13.650 to earn a total of 26.300 to place 17th. 

Pommel

Huang recorded a 13.000 for a two-session total of 24.550 (18th) while Davis posted a 11.850 to place 19th with an overall score of 24.450. 

Rings

Davis earned another season-best with a 13.350 to boost him into 10th place with an overall score of 26.650. Huang posted a 12.600 to place add to his score of 24.850 (14th). 

Vault

Huang and Davis earned 14.050 (27.800) and 13.650 (27.100) to tie for 14th and place 19th, respectively. 

Parallel Bars

Davis scored a 13.100 to place 13th with an overall score of 25.950 and Huang earned a 12.250 to place 21st with a score of 22.700. 

High Bar 

Davis placed eighth with a 13.100 (26.750) and Huang placed 18th with a 12.450 (25.050).
