IOWA CITY, Iowa — The University of Iowa soccer team will travel to Kansas City, Missouri, for a noon (CT) matchup against UMKC on Saturday.

Iowa is 5-0 in spring play and outscoring opponents, 17-2.

“UMKC is an incredibly successful mid-division-I program,” said Iowa head coach Dave DiIanni. “They are going to be similar to Marquette and have a lot of good soccer players, who are pretty athletic.

“For us it is about finding consistency in our performance, not only in certain players, but as a group tactically. We are going to see if we can defend the way we want to tactically and attack the way we want to for 90 minutes.”

This will be the first ever meeting between the Hawkeyes and Kangaroos.

UMKC finished the 2018 season with a 16-5 schedule and 7-1 in Western Athletic Conference play. They are 1-0 in spring play after topping South Dakota State, 2-1, on April 7.
