IOWA CITY, Iowa — Incoming University of Iowa freshman Gianna Gourley has been named Nevada’s Gatorade Player of the Year.  Gourley will join the Hawkeyes in August as a forward.
 
The Las Vegas, Nevada, native scored 28 goals and had 11 assists as a senior at Bishop Gorman High School.  She scored a hat trick in the state championship game, leading the team to a state title and a 27-0-1 record.
 
The Hawkeyes report for fall camp on Aug. 5.  The team’s exhibition opener is at Michigan on Aug. 16.
