Tyler Claims Consolation Championship at B1G Indoor

LINCOLN, Neb. — University of Iowa men’s tennis junior Joe Tyler won the consolation championship on Sunday at the Big Ten Indoor Singles and Doubles Championships at the Dillon Tennis Center.
 
After dropping his first match of the tournament, Tyler rattled off four consecutive wins in straight sets. In the semifinals, Tyler eliminated Nebraska’s Patrick Cacciatore on his home court (6-3, 6-4). In the championship round, he defeated John Carlin of Michigan State (6-4, 6-2).
 
Morgan Lohan notched another win, defeating Russell Berdusco of Northwestern (6-3, 6-3).
