IOWA CITY, Iowa – The Big Ten Conference officially announced details for the 25th-ranked University of Iowa women’s gymnastics team’s 2021 schedule on Monday. The Hawkeyes’ season will be contested over 10 weeks from Jan. 15 through March 20 prior to the NCAA Championships.
The Hawkeyes will compete in eight duals – four at home and four on the road — beginning with the regular season opener at Minnesota on Jan. 16 at 3 p.m. (CT).
Iowa will compete at Carver-Hawkeye Arena during Week 2 (Ohio State), Week 5 (Minnesota), Week 6 (Maryland), and Week 8 (Illinois).
Following the road opener at Minnesota during Week 1, the Hawkeyes will travel to Illinois on Week 3 and Nebraska on Week 6 and Week 9.
The Big 5 Meet will be held Week 7 at a to be determined location, while the Big Ten Championships will take place March 20. Selections for the NCAA Championships will be announced March 29.
Iowa returns 12 letterwinners in 2020-21, including WCGA second-team All-American and first-team All-Big Ten selection Lauren Guerin.
Specific dates, start times, and locations will be released at a later time and will be posted on hawkeyesports.com once finalized. Tickets to events at Carver-Hawkeye Arena in 2021 are limited to immediate family.
