Columbus, Ohio — The University of Iowa men’s tennis fell to Middle Tennessee State, 4-0, Saturday evening at the ITA Kickoff at the Ty Tucker Tennis Center.
The Blue Raiders captured the doubles point by virtue of wins on courts two and three. Will Davies and Oliver Okonkwo, ranked 17th nationally, did not finish their match after the doubles point was clinched.
Nikita Snezhko, Jason Kerst, and Matt Clegg dropped their respective singles matches in straight sets. Clegg lost on court five to No. 102 ranked Oskar Michalek (6-1, 6-3). Chris Edge beat Snezhko at No. 3 (6-2, 6-1), while Chris Edge dropped Kerst at No. 4 (6-1, 6-4). Joe Tyler, Rudra Dixit, and Davies had their singles matches called once Middle Tennessee State won the match.
