Iowa Closes Season with Final Round in Ohio

MAINEVILLE, Ohio– The University of Iowa women’s golf team finished in tenth place at the Big Ten Championships at TPC River’s Bend after shooting a final round +16 (304) Sunday, their highest round of the tournament.

Freshman Klara Wildhaber had an impressive bounce-back final round at TPC River’s Bend, shooting her second lowest round as a Hawkeye, 71 (-1). She finished with a tie for the fourth most pars in the tournament with 38. Wildhaber ended the tournament +6 (222) tied for 24th place.

Sophomore Morgan Goldstein also shared 24th on the individual leaderboard with a three-round score of 222 (+6) which included 35 pars. Goldstein birdied two more par 5s in her final round 74 (+2) to give her a five-under score on the 12 par 5s over the weekend, the fourth best of the tournament.

Sophomore Lea Zeitler had a +5 (77) final round Sunday morning. An up-and-down first ten holes was followed by eight straight pars by Zeitler to end her third round. She finished +15 (231) to tie for 56th.

Sophomore Jacque Galloway and juniors Manuela Lizarazu and Dana Lerner struggled in the final round of the 2021 Big Ten Championships. Galloway finished tied for 58th after her +16 (232) weekend and a +12 (84) third round where she bounced back on the back 9 of the round, shooting only +1. Lizarazu shot a +10 (82) to close her +17 (233) and tie for 60th place. Lerner’s final round included three birdies as she shot +11 (83) and took 72nd at +22 (238) overall. All three golfers’ three rounds in southwest Ohio featured eight total birdies.
