2 Home Meets and NCAA Midwest Regional Highlight 2021 Schedule

IOWA CITY, Iowa — The University of Iowa cross country team announced Tuesday that it will host two home meets at the Ashton Cross Country course in 2021.

Iowa opens the season hosting the Hawkeye Invite on Sept. 3 and begins its trek to nationals by hosting the NCAA Midwest Regional on Nov. 12. The Hawkeyes previously hosted the NCAA Midwest Regional in 2005 and 2016.

The schedule includes four regular season meets on the road before postseason action begins Oct. 29 at the 2021 Big Ten Championships in University Park, Pennsylvania. Teams and student-athletes that advance past the Midwest Regional in Iowa City will move on to the NCAA Championships in Tallahassee, Florida on Nov. 20.

Iowa returns to the course following an abbreviated 2020 season that included just one competition and saw seven Hawkeyes compete at the 2020 Big Ten Championships on Jan. 31, 2021.
