Henderson Named Big Ten Specialist of the Week

IOWA CITY, Iowa – University of Iowa junior JerQuavia Henderson has been named the Big Ten Specialist of the Week, it was announced Monday by the league office. It is her first career honor.

The Peoria, Illinois, native earned the distinction after winning two events in the Hawkeyes’ 195.950-194.100 victory over Eastern Michigan on Jan. 8. Henderson tied a career high en route to her vault title, finishing with a score of 9.925 and she posted a second 9.925 to claim the floor title.

Henderson currently is tied for fifth nationally on the vault and tied for sixth on floor.

Iowa returns to action Friday, hosting Texas Woman’s University at 6:30 p.m. (CT) inside Carver-Hawkeye Arena. It is Princess/Super Hero Night and tickets are available at hawkeyesports.com/tickets.
