IOWA CITY, Iowa – Lafayette transfer Madi Wahrmund will join the University of Iowa volleyball team in the fall of 2022, it was announced Thursday by head coach Jim Barnes.
Wahrmund, a 6-1 middle hitter, spent the last four years with the Leopards before entering the transfer portal.
The Fredricksburg, Texas, native saw action in 314 sets for Lafyette. She totaled 416 kills and 211 blocks for the Leopards. Wahrmund earned All-Patriot League Second-Team honors in 2021 after notching 167 kills and 77 blocks. She is a three-time selection to the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll.
A three-year letterwinner at Fredericksburg high school Wahrmund helped her team reach the regional finals in 2017. She earned first-team all-district honors in 2016 and 2017.
