Iowa Adds Furman Transfer Kyndal Anderson

IOWA CITY, Iowa – Furman transfer Kyndal Anderson will join the University of Iowa soccer program for the 2022 season, it was announced Tuesday by head coach Dave DiIanni. She will have two seasons of eligibility with the Hawkeyes.

“Kyndal is a proven and natural goal scorer during her career at Furman and we believe she can continue that as a Hawkeye,” said DiIanni. “She is an incredibly hard worker, loves the game of soccer and trains with passion to get better. Kyndal is a welcomed addition to our program.”

Anderson comes to Iowa City as a three-time All-Southern Conference selection. She earned second-team All-SoCon and SoCon All-Freshman honors in 2019 and second-team All-SoCon honors in 2021.

During her three seasons in Greenville, South Carolina, Anderson started 38 of 45 games, where she scored 23 goals and tallied five assists for 51 points. The Acworth, Georgia, native scored a career-high 11 goals, including three game-winners, as a junior in 2021, following a seven goal and five goal output as a freshman and sophomore. Her 2021 goal and point totals ranked second in the SoCon.

Anderson helped Furman to back-to-back NCAA Tournament appearances in 2019 and 2020 and the Paladins won the 2020 SoCon Conference Tournament for the first time since 2015. Anderson was named to the SoCon Championship All-Tournament Team.

As a prep, Anderson led Allatoona High School to region titles as a freshman and sophomore and to a Georgia state playoff round of 16 appearance in three consecutive seasons. She was a three-time all-region and two-time All-Cobb County selection.

Iowa opens the fall season Aug. 7, facing Northern Illinois in an exhibition contest at the Iowa Soccer Complex at 1 p.m. (CT).
