IOWA CITY, Iowa – The University of Iowa women’s soccer team earned the United Soccer Coaches College Team Academic Award for its work in the classroom during the 2021-22 academic year. The announcement was made Thursday by the organization.
The Hawkeyes posted a 3.32 team grade point average to earn the distinction for the 16th consecutive year.
Iowa was one of 746 soccer teams (220 men, 382 women) that posted a team grade point average of 3.0 or higher, thereby earning the distinction.
The Hawkeyes open the 2022 season with a pair of home exhibitions against Northern Illinois (Aug. 7) and Drake (Aug. 12) before facing UCLA in the regular season on Aug. 18.
