IOWA CITY, Iowa – The Big Ten Conference officially announced details for the University of Iowa women’s gymnastics team’s 2023 conference schedule on Thursday.
The GymHawks will host the Big Ten Championships inside Xtream Arena on March 18. The Hawkeyes will host two Big Ten home duals inside Carver-Hawkeye Arena and one at Xtream Arena during the 2023 season.
SCHEDULE NOTES
· The Hawkeyes are hosting the Big Ten Championships for the first time since 2012.
· Iowa will compete at the Big Five Meet on Feb. 24 along with Illinois, Maryland, Michigan, and Penn State.
· The Hawkeyes will compete inside Xtream Arena for the first time in program history for two meets. Iowa hosts Michigan State on Feb. 11 and the Big Ten Championships on March 18.
· The GymHawk’s first conference home meet is against Minnesota inside Carver-Hawkeye Arena on Jan. 27.
The Hawkeyes return 10 letterwinners including two All-Big Ten selections, JerQuavia Henderson and Adeline Kenlin, from a team that advanced to the NCAA Regional Final for the first time in the current format, which debuted in 2019. Kenlin finished runner-up on the balance beam at the 2022 NCAA Championships. Iowa also added nine newcomers to the roster, including Minnesota transfer Haley Tyson and Long Island transfer Ella Castellanos.
