FRESNO, Calif. – University of Iowa freshman Shannyn Vogler tallied her second top 20 finish of the season, finishing in a tie for 16th place at the Fresno State Classic, which wrapped up Tuesday at the San Joaquin Country Club.
The Moline, Illinois, native finished with an eight-over par 224 during the 54-hole tournament, firing rounds of 71-77-76. Vogler had six birdies on the week en route to tying the best finish of her Hawkeye career.
Senior Jordan Amelon had a strong 54-hole, shooting a 13-over par 229 (73-76-80). It is her second best showing on the season behind her 225 (+9) at the Westbrook Invitational. Amelon tied for 34th to tally her best finish on the season.
The Hawkeyes finished tied for 10th place on the team leaderboard with a 909 (300-305-304). Fresno State won the team title with an 887, while UC-Riverside’s Tiffany Le was the medalist with a two-under par 214.

Iowa will be back in action on April 15-16, traveling to Columbus, Ohio, for the Lady Buckeye Invitational. It is the team’s final tournament prior to the Big Ten Championships.
