Hawkeyes Host Ohio State for Senior Night

THIS WEEK 

The 30th-ranked University of Iowa women’s gymnastics team will return home to host No. 13 Ohio State for Senior Day on Friday, Feb. 16. Action inside of Carver-Hawkeye Arena will begin at 6:30 p.m. (CT).

PREVIEWING THE BUCKEYES 

• Head coach Meredith Paulicivil is in her seventh season leading the Buckeyes. 

• This will be the 13th meeting between Iowa and Ohio State under Coach Libby. 

• Ohio State has gone 4-2 overall and 3-1 in conference competition in the 2024 season. 

• The Buckeyes recently tied their program record score on beam in their win over Penn State with a 49.525. 

• In Big Ten competition, the Buckeyes have defeated Illinois, Maryland, and Penn State, and have fallen to Michigan. 

 

LAST TIME OUT 

• The GymHawks defeated the Rutgers Scarlet Knights, 196.300-195.325. 

• The GymHawks secured the victory on three of four apparatuses in the meet. 

• Karina Muñoz made her 2024 all-around debut in her home state of New Jersey, bringing home the all-around title with a 39.400. 

• Eva Volpe bettered her all-around score yet again with a 39.350. 

• Gianna Masella brought home the event title on bars and Ilka Juk landed on top on beam. 

• Muñoz and sophomore Bailey Libby each took a share of the event title on floor.
