IOWA CITY, Iowa – The University of Iowa men’s golf team welcomes in junior Gage Messingham for the 2024-2025 season announced by head coach Tyler Stith. Messingham, a Colorado native, played his first two years at the University of Northern Colorado.
“Gage is an ideal addition for the team,”” said head coach Tyler Stith. “He has ambition, passion for the game, and understands what it means to be a Hawkeye. Gage’s game and mentality is suited for the Big Ten. He will have an impact and make the team better.”
Messingham was named the Big Sky Player of the Year this past season as well as first team all-conference and the all-tournament team. He had a scoring average of 72.03 with 10 rounds played in the 60s.
In high school, Messingham was twice selected 5A first team all-state. He collected eight wins on the Colorado Junior Golf Alliance tour and had two AJGA top five finishes. Last summer he finished runner up in the 2023 Colorado State Amateur.
